Jane’s Walk in Our Neighbourhood – Sunday May 2  1:00 p.m.

Who is Jane Jacobs?  What’s this about a memorial walk?  Jane was a famous urbanologist who lived in Toronto, a person who was passionate about protecting and enhancing cities from unbridled growth.  She pinpointed the existence of thriving neighbourhoods as the essential building block in ensuring that cities were liveable and dynamic entities.

Your local residents association, SAHRA in cooperation with hundreds of other groups throughout Toronto has organized a walk-about in our neighbourhood to make residents more aware of the hidden gems lurking in our backyard.  Knowing your neighbourhood is a key step in wanting to protect and enhance it.

Please join us on Sunday May 2nd for the inaugural Jane Jacobs tour as we walk through the neighbourhood and visit three landmarks, the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club, Loretto Abbey and the Canadian Forces College. We will be gathering at the Cricket Club on 141 Wilson Avenue on Sunday, May 2, at 1:00 at the main entrance to begin the tour.  Come join us and show you care about this wonderful neighbourhood we a live in.

Please preregister by sending an email to sahra_news@rogers.com.  Please give your name and the number of people that will be attending.
